The Diamond Youth Organization (DYO) was created in 2003 to help maintain and develop the youth baseball and softball programs in Custer County. DYO is a 16 member board that includes members from Broken Bow, Ansley, Anselmo-Merna and Callaway. The goals of DYO were to organize the youth ball programs by not only integrating the overall program for all kids ages 5-18, but also to develop a program that could be carried forward as board members move in and out of the organization.
Long term goals are educational baseball and softball camps, upgrading of the playing fields, increasing parent participation and the number of active youth within the program. In 2003 DYO had over 200 kids participating in the program with a revenue and expenditure less than $5000. In 2007 DYO had over 600 kids participating and will spend over $25,000. DYO is very proud of what we have been able to accomplish and thank all the
volunteers, coaches, donors, board members and individuals that have contributed to this success. We take pride in what we have started and will continue to make the summertime a time for fast pitch and baseball for all the youth in Custer County.
